So far I’ve only ever dug into Pyongyang naengmyeon, so I’m just getting started on Hamhung naengmyeon. And if you’re going to start on Hamhung naengmyeon, the obvious move is the most famous place of all, Ojangdong Heungnamjip, right?

The oil makes it nutty, the heat is just right, and the noodles have a good chewy bounce. A really high-level naengmyeon, and no wonder it’s popular.
