Miro Sikdang in Hongdae

Every time I go to Korea, I seem to end up dropping by Miro Sikdang. This time was no exception.

Yangji chadol-tang (beef brisket soup)

First time trying this one, and it has a nice spicy kick. It feels more like a hangover soup than a drinking snack.

The sokdae-guk at Hapjeong-ok, which I had for breakfast

I ordered the large (teuk) size; the portion was just right and the broth was clean and refreshing, really good. Gomtang is such a fatty dish by nature that arranging it into a spicy, refreshing style like this might actually be the better way to enjoy it. If I lived in this neighborhood I would probably come pretty often. Hadongkwan is expensive, so as an alternative this is more than enough, if anything.
