Kiba and Monzen-Nakacho run right into each other, so it doesn’t take long to get from Kissou to Koukaibou.

I hurried over, and the line turned out shorter than I’d expected.
Ramen
The niboshi soup is seriously intense. It tastes like they ground dried sardines straight into the pot, yet it goes well with the noodles and toppings. Compared with Kissou, whose noodles were outstanding, these aren’t as firm or springy, but they paired beautifully with that punchy broth. This place is clearly another famous shop with a character all its own. Glad I came.
Autumn sky
Since I was in Monzen-Nakacho anyway, I made time to wander over to Kiyosumi-Shirakawa. I figured I’d never get there without an excuse like this.

It’s a compact little neighbourhood, but somehow it reminded me of Seongsu-dong.
