I’d known there was a chocolate shop in Gwanghwamun ever since Angel’s Share first opened, because that’s where you could try Chocolat DJ’s chocolates. I never had a reason to go to Gwanghwamun, but luckily some business came up in the neighborhood, so I dropped by. What a lovely workshop.

Chocolates like these

Not many places in Korea work at this level, and there are especially few north of the river.. And the flavors have kept evolving since the early days; the recent whisky bonbons are well worth a special trip from far away. The whisky didn’t come through much in the fresh ganache chocolate, though, which was a bit of a shame.
