For personal reasons I often stop by the area around the Homeplus in Jakjeon-dong, and on one of those trips I noticed a dessert shop had opened.
This is the place.
Who would have thought a place that looks like it belongs in front of Hongdae would open in Incheon..
The explanation
It somehow gave off a serious vibe. As a self-professed dessert killer, there was no way I could skip it.
A cream puff and fruit punch
The jelly in the fruit punch was delicious. It was not too sweet, so it went down easy. The seasonal strawberries were good too. The presentation is a bit rustic, but the flavour was spot on. The price was reasonable as well. In Japan this is the kind of dessert shop you would find in every neighbourhood, so it was really nice to see one open in Korea. Jakjeon-dong has become a much nicer place to live.
Roll cake and mango fruit punch
I bought the plain roll cake, and it was incredibly soft with a clean taste. It is a different style from what Mon Chouchou goes for. Good price too. I really liked it.
Samples
They have some more unusual roll cakes too.
A strawberry roll cake in the making
I could watch them make the roll cakes right there, and they really do make them beautifully.
The finished product
Really delicious. A roll cake I can wholeheartedly recommend. At this level it is worth a visit even from far away. I hope they do well in this neighbourhood and stay open for a long, long time. Once business settles down they plan to do other desserts besides roll cakes, which makes me look forward to it even more.
