I had a reason to eat near Nonhyeon-dong, so I stepped into a haejangguk place nearby. It looked like a chain, but the food was decent enough.

A quick search told me it was originally a well-known local favorite that later expanded into a chain. Maybe that’s why the quality isn’t bad.

Simple and clean, as you’d expect from a haejangguk place.

Haejangguk

It isn’t exactly cheap, but it comes packed with meat. I’d say the value for money is pretty decent.

Half portion of suyuk (boiled beef)

A full portion seemed like too much, so I ordered just a half. Dipped in their special sauce, it was a real treat.

It’s not a place worth going out of your way for, but if you’re in the area, it’s fine to drop in once.
