I used my lunch break to meet up with some people I was glad to see at Woo Lae Oak. We got there at exactly 12, and there were already quite a few people. We had to wait a little, but were shown to a table soon enough.
Myeonsu (noodle water)
Earthy and comforting.
Sunmyeon (pure buckwheat naengmyeon)
It used to be only the meat dishes that were expensive here, but these days the naengmyeon prices are scary too. I remember it being 12,000 won, but even so, it’s still worth the trip for now. If it ever hits 15,000, I’ll probably have no choice but to boil up some store-bought naengmyeon at home.
The noodles
In great shape. The broth is excellent and the toppings are tasty too. It lives up to its reputation as a traditional institution. With flavor at this level, there’s nothing to complain about.
Bread from Lee Boulanger
I got this as a gift. Lee Boulanger is a bakery in Bangbae-dong, and their bread turned out to be really delicious. I actually went there recently, so I’ll put together a post on it later.
