I had heard the view from Diamond Head is stunning, so I set out early in the morning. Leaving late would have thrown off the rest of the day’s schedule.

The starting point

I took the trolley from downtown Waikiki, over hill and dale, and there we were. Admission was one dollar.

The scenery on the way up

Diamond Head is, for Koreans, something like Seongsan Ilchulbong on Jeju. It is a crater with a lookout at the top.

The ocean

Beautiful weather again today. They said it was the rainy season, but it did not look like it at all.

The view is so amazing that, even though the climb is a bit of a slog, you will not regret going at least once.

On the way down they were selling pineapple.

The pineapple is seriously delicious~ I ate a lot of it on this trip. Mango is a summer fruit and was not around in winter, which was a bit of a pity.
