Sharin, the tsukemen shop attached to Ueno Station, is a place I had passed by and noticed a few times before, but it was only recently that I found out it is a sister shop of Rokurinsha. Once I knew that, I couldn’t not go.

The front entrance

If you look closely, it says Tokyo Rokurinsha in white letters on red. Judging from the menu, the prices are quite reasonable.

Tsukemen

The dipping broth is Rokurinsha style. Almost identical.

The noodles

The noodles have a good chew too, and while it falls a touch short of Rokurinsha level, considering how convenient it is right by Ueno Station, it is more than good enough as a substitute. Who would have thought a decent ramen shop was hiding in such an unlikely spot~ The Japanese ramen scene really is something.
