I took an unplanned trip to Okinawa. The first place I headed to after arriving on day one was Jack’s Steak House. When you are in Okinawa, you have to have at least a steak.

The way there

It is not that far from downtown, so you can easily walk. The location is a bit hard to find, though, so you will want a map or GPS.

I ordered a steak and the tacos.

Soup and salad

Very much old-school Western-style diner.

Tacos

The tacos here are excellent value for money. The taste was great too. They were the hard-shell kind, which worked better than I expected. I thought they were much better than Charlie’s Tacos.

Tenderloin steak

You get to fill up on good-quality meat. It is slightly pricey, but even taking that into account, it holds up well.

New York steak

A satisfying meal. You need stamina to enjoy a trip.

Bread instead of rice..

Omurice at Haneda Airport

I had nowhere else to post this, so it goes at the end. This was at a coffee shop in the domestic terminal at Haneda Airport; it is expensive, but you get a proper soft-set omurice

Fireworks seen from the hotel

Small in scale, but they set off fireworks every day. If only the weather had been warm it would have been perfect, but Okinawa in November was just too cold.. I kind of wish I had gone somewhere farther away.
