I had been to Tonkatsu Maruyama Kippei before and raved about it as the best tonkatsu in Tokyo, and with a friend in town I ended up going back.
This time, hirekatsu (pork fillet)
A wonderfully moist hirekatsu. For those who consider rosu (loin) the standard for tonkatsu this is close to heresy, but the hire here is really good too. The photo is hazy and out of focus because this was when I had the iOS 7 beta installed. Oddly enough it made the camera worse.
Tokujo rosu (premium loin)
The tokujo rosu just melts in your mouth.
After a good meal I wandered around Akihabara a bit before heading home. The neighbourhood has not changed at all. On the way there was a ramen shop with a long line (a place called Motenashi Kuroki), and I will have to check it out sometime when I have the time.
