Something came up, so I spent a bit of the weekend over in Sunchang, Jeollabuk-do. I searched for good restaurants nearby, but nearly all of them were hanjeongsik places (Korean full-course set meals). So I just ran a plain web search instead, and this place came up as the famous one in town.

It was not one of the days the five-day market is held, so the area was quiet.

Well… it is not exactly cheap compared with the famous places in Seoul, but the portions are generous.

Being pi-sundae, I think it will divide opinion. (Personally I prefer the wang-sundae type.) The broth is rich and it is full of good-quality meat, so one bowl kept me full right through to dinner time. It may not be enough to call a great regional destination, but it seems like a good place to grab a meal while you are in that town.
