Samseong Guksu, a well-known spot near Samseong Station, left a deep impression on me when I visited once a long, long time ago. Gangnam has good places beyond Italian after all.. that is what I thought. This time I got another chance to go.
Mandu
North Korean style, and top class. I order mandu a lot when I go to the famous Pyeongyang naengmyeon houses, and these are hardly any different in quality from the ones there. Generous portion too. I nearly filled up on these alone.
Bindaetteok
A bit pricey, but truly delicious. Bindaetteok / nokdujeon is such a common dish that you wonder how it could be anything special, but one bite and.. well, not quite enough to make you black out, but it did break my assumption that bindaetteok can only be so good. The makgeolli goes down easily. But.. the price really is steep. Maybe it is inflation.
Kongguksu
The noodles are so-so, but the broth is rich. I ordered one, but I was already stuffed, so half a portion would have done.

Come to think of it, this is a place best enjoyed with about four people ordering a bit of everything, but this time we went as two and could not eat much. A bit of a shame. This is when you need a meetup, but gathering four people to eat in Gangnam is not easy. Everyone is busy.. Next time I get a craving for this place, I will have to call a last-minute meetup.
