While looking for somewhere to have breakfast in Shinjuku, I came across BEER&CAFE BERG. Come out of the underground Central East Exit at Shinjuku Station and head left, and you’ll see it. It’s really close by, yet I only just found out a place like this existed. Kind of a strange feeling.
You’ll spot a sign like this in the passageway.

Of course I order from the morning service menu. For a restaurant inside a station, the prices aren’t bad.
The 400-yen morning toast
The nicely toasted bread and soft-boiled egg filled me up well enough, but for 400 yen, ordering a 350-yen gyudon at a 24-hour Yoshinoya might actually be the smarter choice. It might beat a breakfast burger from a 24-hour McDonald’s, though…
With a hot milk
Still, eating hot toast in a cramped, busy European-style café first thing in the morning while listening to the Love Theme from Spartacus wasn’t a bad feeling at all. Plus, I had a great lunch coming up soon. ^_^ (I didn’t take any photos at that lunch, so I can’t post about it, though…)
