I took quite a few café photos too (not counting Takeout Drawing), so I’m putting them all up in one go.
A gelato shop in front of Mapojip at Maebong Station
Not tasty, and pricey. The interior is nice and the chairs are comfy, though, so it’s a good spot for a quiet chat.
Plain yogurt at A Twosome Place
This is my favorite frozen yogurt. The portion is a bit small compared to other places, but the taste more than makes up for it. They used to serve it in a glass cup, but maybe because they’ve opened so many branches, they don’t anymore. Still, the taste hasn’t changed, so I’m happy.
Frozen yogurt at Red Mango
Judging by how well they’re still doing… the frozen yogurt boom seems to be going strong. ^_^ I do worry a little that they have too many branches, but it tastes good, so no complaints. I go there a lot, especially when I drop by Yongsan. (Come to think of it, Akihabara has already been taken over by maid cafés. Yongsan is really wholesome by comparison.)
Coffee Naru in Chungjeongno
We went by car at night, so I’m not sure how easy it is to get to. When we walked in, the owner greeted us like family. Just how often have you been coming here? ^_^
The photos hung up as decoration are lovely.
Apparently customers took them and sent them in themselves. Lots of customers with an artistic streak, it seems.
I asked for something caffeine-free and got a lassi.
Refreshing and sweet, and I was very happy with it. People say the coffee is good too. If it were near my place I’d go often ^_^ but it isn’t, which is a shame.
A wine bar in Jongno.
I tried to order a wine on the menu that looked good, but they said it was already all gone. So I had no choice but to get an ordinary one… Maybe the bartender is why they still do good business anyway.. -_-;;
A late-night bar in Hongdae.
This place wasn’t great. It’s supposed to play old pop, but while the owner was out, the staff had called their friends over and were partying loudly. We just left.
The atmosphere was nice, though..
I’ll have to go back sometime.
So we went to Blues House instead
This place wasn’t exactly calm either, but places you can go late at night are all like this, so what can you do. Hongdae has really developed a lot lately. It feels like not much of the old vibe is left.. Well, development is a good thing. I hope I get a chance to properly have fun there next time.
