Ritsurin Garden is one of the must-see sights in Takamatsu. It’s right in the middle of the city, and since it looked small for a park I went back and forth on whether to bother, but I had some time left over so I went in, and it turned out to be a huge Japanese garden. I’ve been to two of Japan’s Three Great Gardens, and this one was every bit their equal.
It’s pretty big, so walking all the way around takes about an hour. There are ponds and little hills, and every corner is beautifully kept. It’s lovely as it is, but it made me want to come back in other seasons too. It’s a Japanese garden, so I don’t think it needs any more explanation. Just enjoy the photos.
There were an awful lot of pine trees.
