It was Health and Sports Day in Japan, so I had the day off. To look after my health a bit, I went up Mount Daisen, the hill out back in my neighbourhood -_-
The autumn sky is clear.
It comes out this blue even without a CPL filter.
The weather was really lovely.
Perfect for a hike.
The season is slowly starting to turn to autumn.
The wind was cold and the leaves were just about to start falling..
The sky was especially clear.
An autumn sky has a clarity that a summer sky doesn’t.
Lots of people were out hiking.
I had a hard time finding the parking lot.
A sea of clouds.
It made me want to dive right in..
Walking slowly, I reached the summit in about two and a half hours.
Lots of people are resting at the summit.

In winter the whole thing turns into a ski area. There aren’t many hiking days left.
The sea is close, so the coastline looks great.
Since this is where the sea meets the mountains.. you’d think there would be lots of local specialties, but not really. Daisen has dairy farms, so it’s fairly well known for its dairy products.

Is it about as high as Hallasan?.. It isn’t very steep, so the climb was no real trouble. But maybe because it’s the summit, the wind was cold..
The way down.
Near the summit only short grass and shrubs grow. They say it’s because of the altitude.
The path down is narrow.

I think it’s been about a year ^_^;

Once it’s covered in white snow, I’ll have to come back to ski. ^_^

By the way, cleaning dust off the CCD is such a pain.. Maybe I should use this as an excuse to buy a new model.
