Odaiba – Meijin no Hitosara

This post was written in 2006. Shop details and prices may have changed since then.

I went to Odaiba for a company event. Once it was over, I headed off on my own to the 3rd floor of Venus Fort, to a place
called Meijin no Hitosara (“a master’s plate”), where casual branches of seven well-known restaurants, each famous in a different field, are gathered together.
I really like the concept: restaurants with a pleasant atmosphere and good food right inside an upscale shopping space.. In Korea the trend is shopping + movies,
but in Japan it’s shopping + good food. Marché de Métro in Omotesando, which I introduced before, has that same

This is Sungari Laryok, a branch of Sungari, the Russian restaurant in Shinjuku. What I picked that day was the Russian soup, borscht. I love soupy dishes to begin with,

The café right next door was selling Moët & Chandon at 900 yen a glass. ^_^;; That’s pretty much cost price..

I had honey toast with it as a snack. The honey toast wasn’t bad, but once again that day I ran into the difficulty of tackling two dishes on my own.

After the Moët & Chandon, I walked along the Odaiba waterfront at night and headed home. I think I was feeling pretty sentimental that day..
This is the giant Ferris wheel I shot on the way back.
