This park is called Harbor View Park (Minato-no-Mieru-Oka Park). Cross a bridge from Chinatown and you reach Motomachi,
the designer-brand shopping street, and at the far end of Motomachi there’s a hill up to the park. The hill… is a killer…
But the view is good, so up I went. I’m coming back here at night, so I won’t post the daytime
harbor shots.
A lazy moment in the park. That kid suddenly threw the shoe he was wearing at the pigeons,
so they all took off and are circling around the park. Cute little guy..
Thanks to the tourists feeding the seagulls in Yamashita Park, I got to shoot the gulls up close
with a 35mm lens. ^_^; It’s been a while since I shot anything moving, and I forgot to keep my shutter speed up,
so it came out a bit blurry.
A cute girl in a penguin pose, photographing a penguin mailbox.. I was running late for Anri Kumaki’s show,
and on the way I spotted something fun and just hit the shutter. (I really missed my Leica.)
I’d say I owe this one to the 35’s fast AF. Maybe this is today’s best candid shot? ^_^;
Anri Kumaki, shot with the A50.2.. She sings well and her MC banter was fun too.. She did a promo live
at Tower Records in Yokohama Station for her second album, which just came out. This girl was the direct reason
for this whole Yokohama trip..
Right.. to shoot the night view, I have to go back to Harbor View Park.. -_-;; The sun is going down.
While the sun sets, the colors change by the minute. It only lasts about 30 minutes,
but you can get far more interesting photos than in daytime. That’s the Landmark Tower in the background.

Yokohama is a tourist hotspot, so it’s packed with couples. Like every couple in Tokyo gathered in one place..
I mean, it’s full of couples walking like th-th-that, hands clasped tight..
The space under the elevated train tracks is covered in graffiti. It went on for about a kilometer.
Taking a closer look, it seems to be the work of a fairly well-known artist collective. This is
part of forward-looking Yokohama, too.
