There seemed to be a ton of good places to eat around Nagoya Station, so I snapped a bunch of them.
Hinoya Curry
I spot these now and then, but I’ve never actually been in..
Sawasho, an eel restaurant
It looked so classy as I walked past that I had to take a picture.
Marron
It’s apparently an izakaya whose name is written 小栗 (“Oguri”) but read “Marron”. It was a pre-opening day, so only people with reservations could get in. Anyway, it looked like a nice place.
Milk’s
Apparently they mainly do cheese, meat and wine. A place like this just seems like it’d be good, right?
Scenery
Turns out Nagoya has something like a canal too.
Lions Sauce
No idea what they do, but the mascot was cute so I took a picture.
Street scene
Looked like some kind of model home for a new apartment building.
Poro e Vino
This place also looked like it had a really great vibe for some reason.
Minokichi, charcoal-grilled yakiniku and horumon
As we got closer to the station, the bars started to multiply.
Sushi to Kushi to Watakushi (Sushi, Skewers and Me)
The sign was really pretty.
Ichiba no Ura (Meat x Veggies x Wine)
It’s a wine bar, and it has a nice atmosphere.
The menu of a place I came across on the way
They serve something called Italian-style oden. Seemed like it’d be great with a glass of wine.
Diana
This is the place that serves the Italian-style oden.
Sekai no Yamachan
This one’s famous all over Japan, of course.
Toribura, a yakitori place
This one looked cool too, so I took a picture.
Places like these somehow look like they know what they’re doing..
I just took this while walking by, but they all look delicious.
Sushi Kado
A place like this looks pretty atmospheric too.
Food Center
This must be the market (Yanagibashi Central Market).
Uotsubaki, a standing sushi bar
There’s even a standing sushi bar. I used to love places like this.
Elevated expressway
I guess you get this kind of thing near the station.
Bars
Lots of spots that look good for a quick, casual bite.
Yaki Gyoza Strike
It’s a dumpling place, and the sign is really pretty.
Gyoza no Ohsho
There’s this too.
Gyoza no Ohsho promotion
This was a tie-in with a TV show: Gyoza no Ohsho created dishes, had them approved by real gourmets and chefs, and then sold them as a special promotion. If you’ve seen the show, you naturally want to try them at least once.
