Going around Bupyeong this time, something struck me. There are a huge number of Chinese grocery stores.. and the place feels completely globalized..
Shops like this
When did all this spring up..
Shops like this
They sell Chinese liquor too, and honestly, if there is this much here, is there even any reason to go all the way to Daerim? That is what I found myself thinking..
Under Bupyeong Station
The food court is completely international. I never imagined a place like this existed.
Like this..
There is Vietnamese, there is Korean.. all sorts..
Like this..
There is a sushi place too..
Tanghwa Kungfu
It is a malatang specialist, and it turned out to be the Chinese style.
Like this..
There is Korean food as well, but only a small part of it.
Wonton, cheung fun, mala noodles and so on
That is the menu I used to have for breakfast in China.. I wanted to try it, but I was already full so I gave up..
A Thai restaurant
It looked like the real deal..
Lao Changsha
There was a Hunan place. Hunan food is close to Korean food and tastes good, so who knew there was one in Bupyeong too..
Harbin rice bowls
I have no idea what this is, but it looked incredibly good..
A Myanmar supermarket
There is a place called JTK World Mart.
Ingredients
They sell all kinds of curious things. To my eye it feels a bit like Thailand as well.
A Myanmar supermarket
It feels like being in Southeast Asia..
Spices
There are a lot of Myanmar restaurants around here, so I suppose that is why a place like this exists.
This kind of mood
They do it on quite a scale..
Myanmar Village Bupyeong
There is a fairly big restaurant.
Asia Mart
Another mart here too..
A restaurant
It looks like the restaurant is attached to an old-style inn.
Restaurants like this too..
There are so many Myanmar restaurants that I could not even tell where to go..
A Myanmar restaurant
For now, even searching online, I could not find anything about which places are good. A few ads show up, though..
An old-style inn
This neighborhood never used to have much going on, but it seems to have become a Myanmar town. There is a Russia town and a Myanmar town, so it really has turned into an international city..
Kim Yong-gi Confectionery, Myeonggwa
This is supposed to be a famous spot too, but this day I only looked..
Bukchunwon
I was walking past and there were a lot of people, so I took a shot; this Chinese restaurant seems to be famous too.
