Azabudai Hills, Revisited

I went back to Azabudai Hills again.

There was a place like this too.

Azabudai hills.

And a place like this

Azabudai hills.

Teddy bear cakes

Azabudai hills.

So cute.

A green tea specialist

Azabudai hills.

Patisserie & Cafe DEL’IMMO

Azabudai hills.

Gin no Mori

Azabudai hills.

This one was seriously glamorous.

Tokyo Ramen RAGE

Azabudai hills.

Torishiki

Azabudai hills.

Parlor Yazawa

Azabudai hills.

Torioka, reservations only

Azabudai hills.

Torishiki

Azabudai hills.

I turned up late, so there were only a few pieces left.

Sausages

Azabudai hills.

Meat

Azabudai hills.

Nothing but expensive cuts.

Nukazuke (vegetables pickled in rice bran)

Azabudai hills.

They look delicious.

Mangoes

Azabudai hills.

The kind of pricey mangoes you would find in a department store food hall…

Pies

Azabudai hills.

Azabudai Hills is built around the concept of a residence for the wealthy, so the food halls only stock the very top end. I hear the rent is around 20 million won (about 2 million yen) a month, and people paying that are hardly going to worry about the price of lunch… For them Hermes is probably what Uniqlo is to the rest of us… They really have built an incredible apartment block, and I suppose that means there are plenty of rich people to fill it.

Yakitori from Torishiki

Azabudai hills.

You can tell the meat is genuinely top quality, but since it was takeaway, not all of that impact made it home with me.

Karaage

Azabudai hills.

The karaage, though, is made for takeaway from the start, and it is seriously good. I would happily call it the best karaage of my life. Next time I go to Torishiki I should buy something other than the yakitori.

Kameido Gyoza

Azabudai hills.

I picked this up as well.

Pan-fried

Azabudai hills.

They tasted great, though I may have charred them a bit? This one was not the easiest thing to carry home either.
