Miro Sikdang is so famous that it probably needs no introduction… but even so, something has usually changed whenever I drop by. There’s one table fewer now, so reservations seem to be even harder to get. Best to book well ahead of your visit.
The front entrance
Always good to see it.
The Hongdae view
We climbed all the way up the hill, so here’s a shot to mark it…
Draft beer…
Beer to kick things off, as always…
Dubu-jjim, braised tofu
The tofu here keeps getting better and better…
Marinated grilled pork collar
Perfect, of course.
Fried meat
The meat was really good…
Chusa
Apple brandy? Is that what I should call it? Korea’s liquor tax rules probably keep them from calling it brandy, but… it tasted a little like vodka and a little like whisky.
Seafood and chive jeon
I went with the seafood and chive jeon on purpose, since ordering the zucchini and potato jeon might have annoyed the owner…
Jeju pork tenderloin tangsuyuk
It has a different appeal from the fried meat, so I end up ordering both.
Whelk salad and grilled Spam
Whelk and Spam to close things out…
Tteokbokki
They seem to be doing well on the strength of the tteokbokki lately, which is a relief.
