Nogami’s Shokupan

Nogami is the bakery that’s been taking Japan by storm with its “nama” shokupan, the soft white loaf meant to be eaten as is, without toasting. This style of bread has become a trend in Korea lately too, and I suspect this shop had something to do with it. It’s not easy to get hold of, but I somehow managed to score a loaf and gave it a try.

It oozes luxury.

Nogami

They say it’s best eaten fresh, without toasting..

Here’s the loaf..

Nogami

It’s very good.. but honestly, it was almost indistinguishable from the shokupan I’d had in Korea (Takumiya in Gongdeok).. no way..
