In Ebisu there’s a place called Ebisu Yokocho, an alley-like spot packed with all sorts of drinking joints. It’s not as cheap as you’d expect and the food isn’t outstanding either, yet the place was absolutely packed. I guess a good concept really is what counts in the restaurant business.

Good-quality ingredients, but it came at a price too.

Nicely fried, tasted good.

A lemon sour, I think..

It’s a bit pricey and the vibe is pure market-alley, so I’d say it’s best suited to a quick drink rather than a proper meal. Ebisu is a wealthy neighbourhood anyway, so slightly high prices are hardly going to be a problem. Either way, I had a fun evening out. Above all, I was surprised to find that Ebisu has a place like Shinjuku’s Omoide Yokocho or Kichijoji’s Harmonica Yokocho.
