Lately I only ever go to the same places. This day too, I dropped by Angel’s Share. Maybe because it was the last day of the holiday, there were hardly any customers and it was nice and quiet.
Rusty Nail
Started off lightly with a cocktail.
Longrow
The sister whisky of Springbank. It is normally a heavily peated whisky, but it did not feel as intense as I expected.
GlenDronach
Really good value for money. Being sherry cask it is easy to drink, but as a cask strength bottling the ABV is on the high side.
Octomore cocktail
It had a little Octomore floated on top, and the aroma and taste were very impressive.
Yoichi 15 Year Old
I drank a lot of different whiskies that day. Of them all, I think the Yoichi was the most impressive. Like Yamazaki it is a style anyone can drink easily, but it has a distinctive character of its own. I liked it so much I will have to buy a bottle.
