Somehow I ended up back at Eojjeoda Gage (the name means something like “the shop you happen upon”). That day, too, I dropped by Angel’s Share.

By now it has become a very familiar place. Even though getting here from the other side of Seoul is no small trip, I keep finding myself coming back.

Today’s whisky was this..

Yes.. well, it’s the Macallan Cask Strength, so the taste goes without saying. I feel like I’ve been drinking way too many sherry cask whiskies lately, but even among those, this one was the peak.

Also ordered from the lounge and eaten at the bar. Maybe because I was hungry, it was passable enough, but from now on I’d better eat dinner somewhere else before coming. Then again, for someone like me who doesn’t eat Japanese food in Korea, it’s a sad fact that there’s hardly anywhere in Hongdae for a light dinner..

Gin and tonic

A modest, cheerful atmosphere and tasty cocktails. Angel’s Share’s identity seems to be getting clearer and clearer. It’s a bar I’m looking forward to seeing more of.
