This post is already a month late. My friends threw a welcome-home meetup for me at Hyangmi in Myeongdong to celebrate my return to Korea. I’ve been coming to this neighborhood a lot since my university days for all sorts of reasons, but I think this may actually have been the first time I ate a meal here. It felt kind of special.

These were just so-so for me. They were nicely pan-fried, but the filling seemed to have some spices in it..

This is Pascual Toso, an Argentine wine I brought along. For the modest price it tasted pretty classy. Wines like this go well with Korean and Chinese food too, so I should stock up in advance.
Fish-fragrant fried eggplant
Right at the level you’d expect from a good Chinese restaurant. I made up my mind to come here whenever there’s a get-together in this area.
Shandong chicken
It’s something like a dressed chicken salad? Nicely tangy and tasty.

They really know their way around frying.

I ordered this thinking of Japanese yaki udon, and it has a similar feel. After all that, I was finally starting to get full.

Nothing all that special.. I still have plenty of gifts left, so I’d better polish them off before it gets any hotter.
