I wandered around a bit more in search of good food in Shizuoka.
A café on the way
It says this is the strongest matcha in the universe.. uh, okay..
A shop selling oinari, i.e. inari sushi
The fox was cute, so I took a picture.
Premium dashi inari
They were selling really pretty inari sushi. I was curious, but I’d already bought way too much stuff, so I just looked..
Bread at Ayukawa
Looks like I don’t have a photo of the building. Anyway, it was a café-bakery selling neat, well-made bread, and you can have a meal there too.
Croissants
I came late, so there was hardly any bread left.
Lunch menu
I couldn’t do lunch this time anyway, but I was curious what they serve, so I took a picture. Looks pretty good.
Inside
There’s a pretty big café area. I tried a croissant, and it was well made, but not on some amazing level.. If you happen to be passing through the neighborhood, it’d be worth a stop. I only came because I was curious about the name Ayukawa, but it’s popular anyway and the bread sells out fast, so it’s clearly doing just fine without me worrying about it. I think I’ll just file it under “oh, so this place exists” and move on.
Xiao long bao bar
There are places like this too.. Shizuoka really is stylish.
Wasabi
There’s a wasabi specialty shop too, which I’d like to try someday.
Wonder what this place is..
It looked so cool that I took a photo, but I couldn’t see a sign.. I figured it might be some kind of ryokan..
Menu at Café Yama to Umi to Taiyo
Took this in passing. They’ve got burgers kind of like Mos Burger’s, and hot dogs too.
Inside the café
Like that pumpkin-looking objet.. you can tell they put a lot of care into it. The chairs are solid wood too.. Is it really okay to make it this fancy.. What is Mos thinking..
