Dosanko Ramen is an ordinary chain shop. It sits near the national road bypass, a little way out from Oroshihonmachi, and it looks like it has quite a history behind it. It has the feel of a neighborhood hangout.

A place like this

I came here because there is no decent place to eat in Oroshihonmachi, but the atmosphere is not bad. It being winter, I kept craving miso ramen.

Miso ramen

It looks nothing special on the surface, but the taste is proper miso ramen. If the miso ramen at Shinki that I had a while back is perfect in both looks and flavor, this one looks a bit slapdash but tastes fine. On top of that the portion is generous, so it is no wonder people like it.

The kitchen

They seem to run things cleanly and well. Anyway, it is nice that even a neighborhood chain puts out ramen worth eating. There is a gap between this and the famous shops, but I suppose it comes down to whether you travel far for that gap or just go somewhere near home.
