I had heard the gelato was good, so I went to try it.

There was a mirror ball spinning.. who on earth builds a pizza oven like this, I wondered.. but apparently the pizza is not that good.. if you are going to do it, you may as well do it properly..

Extra-ripe ume sorbet and rum raisin custard
The ume sorbet has perfectly ripened, large ume in big chunks, and being a sorbet it tastes wonderfully fresh; it brings out the character of the ume beautifully.. The rum raisin custard is the opposite: a seriously rich custard filled with the aroma of rum, and I felt it drew out the very best of what gelato as an ice cream can be. They really are good at this.

Anyway, it is a wonderful place and the gelato was delicious, so it is a bit of a shame that the pizza falls short.
