I heard that a new, clean Michi-no-Eki (roadside station) recently opened in Toyohashi, so I decided to pay a visit.
A place like this
You’ll find it while driving along the bypass.
Koppe-pan and Sand Olive no Kaze
There’s a bakery here.
These kinds of breads
They looked great, but I had already stopped by Yoshioka and didn’t have the stomach for more bread. Still, the quality seemed high enough that it would be worth a dedicated trip.
Gelato
Apparently, this is a famous shop in town. They seem well-known for their quail-egg gelato.
Black Thunder
The Black Thunder factory is located in Toyohashi. It’s a point of local pride.
Chikuwa and other things…
Hitsumabushi and other things…
Food court
You can get Toyohashi curry udon and other Aichi specialties here. It’s a nice spot to grab a meal while passing through the area. Plus, you have to pass by here anyway if you’re taking the bypass to Nagoya.
Makeine…
I thought only the heroine would appear, but Nukumizu finally makes an appearance…
Black Thunder products
I had no idea there were so many varieties…
Itoko Rusk
Itoko is going nationwide…
Beer shirts
The characters are actually really cute. But I’m more of a whisky person than a beer person…
Various local specialties
I feel like they’re doing a great job creating tourist spots these days.
Sausages and more
They had these as well.
Pyrenees
This one is a given…
Canned radishes in the morning
There’s even a market-like section.
A space like this
Since it’s so well put together, it seems like a great place just to come and do some grocery shopping.
A space like this
Just emphasizing how well-done it is…
Desserts
There’s a bakery, and then there’s this… I wonder if all of this sells well. I hope lots of people visit.
