It’s been a while since I’ve been to Japan, and there are so many new things at the mart that I have a lot to post.
Charumera Wonton Noodles
It was just… ordinary.
Mochigome Senbei
Honestly, they all taste so similar that I don’t know which one is better.
Okoge Senbei
Same here. There’s a difference, but it’s negligible.
Soft-boiled Eggs
You can always find these at the mart and they’re cheap. I could make them in Korea, but the convenience is on another level.
Katsuobushi
Local marts just sell this kind of bonito flakes.
Wolfgang Whisky Highball
The price is low, and the taste is accordingly low. I’m not sure why they needed to use the Wolfgang name.
Echigo Hime Gummies
Just… very ordinary.
Yakushima Tankan Gummies
Tangerine flavored gummies, and you can really taste the tangerine.
Chocolate Banana
They were selling frozen chocolate bananas so I tried them, and they taste pretty good.
Mentaiko Cheese Potato Chips
These were actually decent. Mentaiko is basically a cheat code.
Tokachi Calpas
An affordable snack for drinks. It’s spicy and seems to be made from pork or chicken with added fat. Since it’s cheap and tastes okay, you can have a budget drinking session if you pair it with a cup of sake.
Dinkel Grünkern
It’s a rye bread and the taste isn’t bad. It has a bit of a grainy texture when you chew it.
Famous Dango
They sell dango like this.
Chocolate Choux
I bought these because I heard they were good, and the taste is indeed great, but the portion is too small. I think I need to buy two bags.
Kin no Butter Chicken
This was actually quite delicious.
Fettuccine Gummies
Maybe because it’s Bourbon, but they’re really pleasant to eat.
Calpas
The ingredients are… a masterpiece of food engineering. It makes me realize how far they’ll go to make something cheap and tasty.
Pure Gummy Plum Flavor
Surprisingly tasty. The acidity makes it feel refreshing.
Mikkabi Mikan Gummies
They taste good, but not necessarily a “must-buy.”
Premium Roll Cake (50% Extra)
At this price, it’s definitely worth it.
Kabukiage
I heard this is the best-selling fried rice cracker, and it’s very conventionally delicious.
Pocky Blueberry Flavor
Tastes good, but the portion is too small…
Grape Pure Gummy
Ordinary.
Togouchi
They say it’s floral, but I can’t really tell. It was just okay to drink.
Golden Balance Umeshu
I used to drink this often because it’s so tasty, though some people say it’s a bit too sweet. I think this level of sweetness is just right. It’s an Aeon limited edition, and I don’t think there’s a better value-for-money drink than this.
Isaina
They say it’s a trendy shochu highball these days, but it wasn’t really my thing…
