For various reasons I could not get a photo of the entrance. In any case, the place is small and charming. It has even been picked as one of Tabelog’s notable shops.

They were delicately made. The chef here is a textbook Frenchman, and even at his age he comes out in his chef’s whites and cracks jokes in Japanese. Quite a character. I suspect that is part of why the place is so popular.

A dessert with complex, delicate layers. It feels close to a hotel lounge cake, and the chef said he came from a hotel background too.

Being able to eat desserts at this level really lifts your quality of life. Even out in the provinces, Japan seems like a place worth living in.
