I heard there was an observation deck with a great view of Mt. Fuji, so I stopped by. I had gone all in on Mt. Fuji that day anyway, so I might as well see everything there was to see..

Very modern. And it is a fantastic view, taking in not just Mt. Fuji but Shimizu Port and downtown Shizuoka as well.

This is the same spot I had stopped by in the morning, but the clouds suddenly rolled in and I could not see Mt. Fuji. I really did put three Mt. Fuji stops on the schedule, and even though it was a clear day, the last view was a bust. It is very hit or miss.

Anyway, it is hard to visit without a car, but the scenery really is great. Just go knowing that you need some luck to actually get to see Mt. Fuji.
