There are a lot of good bakeries clustered in this neighborhood, and one of the standouts is Surette Bakeshop.
The place
It’s a small French-style bakery. I spotted it while walking past, and it looked like it had something going for it.

The baguettes are good, but the financiers seem to be the popular item, and maybe because I’d recently watched a video of Winter saying she loves financiers, or for whatever reason, I picked up a pistachio financier for the first time in ages, and it was nutty and delicious.
