No matter what kind of trip it is, I think the quality of the trip changes depending on whether or not you have contact with locals. This time I was really lucky again to meet a wonderful local, and on their recommendation I was able to visit a local souvenir shop. To be honest, I doubt the products sold at this shop are exclusive to this place. But you need some kind of guide to what is actually good before you can choose, and in that sense this shop served as a very good baseline. If you happen to be going to Cambodia, even if you don’t necessarily stop by this shop, I recommend checking out what they have before you go.

Pepper from La Plantation

They introduced LA PLANTATION as the most premium brand. Honestly, even just with pepper there are so many kinds that picking which one to buy is not an easy task, but being told “this is the high-end one” made the choice easy. The friends who received this as a gift all loved it too, saying the aroma was great.

Roasted skin-on cashews

These cashews are ridiculously big and so delicious. I had never had cashews like this in my life. Searching in Korea, there are some vendors selling something similar, but I still think it will be hard to come across cashews as good as the ones I bought here.

Honey

That honey in the water bottle with no label at all is what they call “mokyang honey,” which is honey actually gathered from the wild. Word is that this honey is seriously delicious. I bought some this time too, and got lots of compliments from people around me about how good it was. They say honey like this used to be sold in Korea as well (or rather, in the old days this was the only kind of honey there was), but I never imagined there would be a place selling real honey like this in Cambodia. It is not cheap, though. I paid by card, and cards worked just fine in Cambodia. You can get by without cash. That said, QR payments do not seem to be the main thing here.

The vibe

It made choosing easy. Next time I go back, I want to buy a huge haul again.

Dried mango

This is mango dried the natural way without any added sugar, and it is seriously delicious. The sweetness is just right. So this is what premium mango is like, I thought.

Anyway, thanks to being introduced to such a great place, I did some shopping I will remember for life. This place alone makes me want to visit Cambodia once again.

Off to a massage shop

What I felt when I came here last time is that taking a flight that departs at night is so exhausting that you absolutely have to rest during the day. So I went to a massage shop that an acquaintance recommended.

It is a clean place.

The room itself was a bit shabby, but they gave my whole body a full massage. My fatigue melted away completely.

A cat

It was in front of the massage shop, and it was such a painfully skinny cat that I felt sorry for it. I hope it gets to eat properly..

Moringa tea

I bought this as a gift, but the taste seems ordinary, and it is apparently supposed to be good for your health..

The fruit I bought this time

The dried jackfruit was like a snack, and the mango was luxurious. But the best of all was the cashews.

Rough size comparison

They are huge. Behind the nutty flavor of the cashew comes the slight bitterness of the roasted skin, and that is so appealing. On top of that they are crunchy and salty, so they were perfect as a snack with drinks too. It was a flavor that made me regret over and over that I only brought back one bag. If you go to Cambodia, I highly recommend getting hold of some and trying them.
