I heard another good bakery had opened in Bupyeong, so I went to check it out.
The place
It’s a shop called AROM Bake, and the line here is always long. I came right before closing this day, so there wasn’t much bread left and not many people either..
Inside
The interior feels like a direct reflection of the owner’s style.
Like this..
This kind of style doesn’t just happen on its own..
Style..
There’s a Peko-chan here too..
Style..
Intense.
Desserts like these
There wasn’t much left, but they had tarts, Dubai chocolate, crookies, scones, financiers and so on. There were towel cakes too, so it really felt like they carry every dessert that’s trending right now. These days shops like this seem to do great business.
I bought some Dubai chocolate and a financier, and because I was the last customer of the day they threw in a Nunettine scone on the house. Nunettine is the classic Korean pastry snack with icing drizzled over the top. I really appreciated it, and the scone was genuinely delicious. The cream on top is nice, but the scone itself was on another level.
Dubai chocolate
The inside of this chocolate was crisp and packed with pistachios, so it was very well made. The desserts here are as good as the shop’s distinctive aesthetic sense. A special place like this makes you want to root for it..
