There’s a cluster of jokbal (braised pig’s trotters) places around Gongdeok, and these shops do a good sundaeguk too.
A place like this
There are plenty of places like this in the neighborhood, but I went into the very first one.
The entrance
Apparently they’re generous with the freebies.
Step inside and this is the mood.
The kind of atmosphere that makes you want soju.. but it was daytime, so I didn’t overdo it.
They lay out a full spread.
Not many places serve it up like this these days.

The sundae is ordinary glass-noodle sundae, but it’s perfectly good.

The prices are decent enough.
Sundaeguk
The taste isn’t bad at all. If this much comes out for 10,000 won, you can’t complain. If I ever ended up working in this neighborhood, this is the sort of place I’d be dropping by all the time.
