Here are some photos from Shimizu.
Shizuoka Bank
It was right by Shimizu Station, so I just took a shot of it.
You can see Mt. Fuji behind the McDonald’s.
Getting to see a view like this every day has to be one of the best things about Shimizu.
Mt. Fuji
This is just a view I snapped in passing.
A ramen shop I photographed in passing
It looked like a fairly well-known place. I took a shot of it for the record.
A cafe I came across while walking along
The sign reading Tomiya Coffee is rather cute.
A view of the town centre
The sea is close by, so there are a lot of bridges.
A photo taken while walking along
A tree
The Ferris wheel
This town is the home of Chibi Maruko-chan, an anime that has been on the air in Japan since a very long time ago. There’s a theme park for it here, it turns out. That Ferris wheel looks like it’s part of the same thing.
Shimizu Port
The harbour
The Ferris wheel
The harbour with Mt. Fuji in view
It was partly hidden by cloud, but I could see Mt. Fuji and the sea at the same time. A lovely view.
The harbour seen from the shopping mall
Nice atmosphere.
Chibi Maruko-chan Land, 25th anniversary
I’m not that big a fan of Chibi Maruko-chan, so I didn’t go in.
Shimizu Sushi Museum
There’s even a sushi museum, so sushi must really be famous here.
Sushi restaurants
They’ve turned the whole thing into a little town.
Manpuku-gai
There’s a street here with all sorts of things to eat.
Fujimori donburi
Maybe because Mt. Fuji is close by, they sell menu items like this too.
