Off to Japan, June 2024

I go to Japan so often that posting airport photos is honestly getting a bit tedious.

Plenty of people about.

Tour to japan.

So many, in fact, that unless you get there nice and early, even making your flight becomes a struggle.

Whisky

Tour to japan.

Lots of whiskies here that look worth buying. Not that I’m actually going to buy any.

Seoul Hotteok

Tour to japan.

A hotteok place has opened up, and they were selling hot dogs too. I tried both, and the quality isn’t as high as I’d expected. The hot dog in particular had only been heated on one side, so the other side was cold.

Signet (Glenmorangie)

Tour to japan.

Wow, a place like this in here..

A bunsik joint that does ramyeon too

So there is somewhere with decent value for money inside the airport.

Things do seem to shift around a little each time..

Ebisenbei no Sato

Tour to japan.

This place is genuinely popular, and for around 700 yen you can pick up all sorts of shrimp crackers, which makes them absolutely perfect to buy as gifts. They taste decent too. I bought a few and they were good.

Misen

Tour to japan.

I dropped in for a look.

Souvenir corner

Tour to japan.

There’s a new place I hadn’t seen before.

Misen ramen

Tour to japan.

The souvenir shop has grown a bit.

Nagoya souvenir ranking

Tour to japan.

Akafuku, the Ise red bean mochi, is the most popular.

Jinmi chunjang (Korean black bean paste)

Tour to japan.

The ingredient for making jjajangmyeon. I’ll cook some up whenever the craving hits.

Ebisenbei no Sato

Tour to japan.

Good as a snack, or with a drink.
