Jangkkobang, a kimchi jjigae joint in Seocho

Jangkkobang, the kimchi jjigae place in Seocho, isn’t the easiest spot to eat at on your own, so I’d never made it there — but an acquaintance came to visit, and I finally got my chance. It’s also one of the few places around here worth driving to, since the parking is good.

Giant rolled omelette

Value for money aside, it’s rich and tasty. The problem is that if you come alone, this one dish on its own will already stuff you.

Banchan

Simple.

Pork bulgogi

This one isn’t some mind-blowing dish either, but wrapped in a lettuce leaf it has that decent, old-fashioned flavour. There’s a bit of a smoky char to it, too.

Kimchi jjigae

More of a kimchi soup than a stew, with a clean, refreshing taste that makes it perfect for a hangover. This was good too, so it’s a really nice place for a proper meal. Tasty, filling, and I ate well.
