I feel like I go to Barolo in Yeonnam-dong really often, and I suspect I’ll keep going just as often. There aren’t many places like it.
Today’s wine
I don’t know much about wine, so I just drink whatever they pick for me, and it never disappoints.

Cigar malt
Cigar malts seem to be getting some attention in Korea lately (the Dalmore especially), but the current cigar malt boom really started with this whisky. The distillery isn’t officially named, but it was made at Mortlach, and it’s a seriously deep sherry cask whisky. One sip and your mouth and nose are flooded with aroma, and that intense character, strong enough to stand up to a cigar, is exactly what makes it a cigar malt. And yet when you drink it there’s a smoothness that hides the 55.7% completely. Absolutely, exactly my kind of style.. The world of whisky is wide, and there’s still no end to the whiskies that look interesting and that I want to try.

Biscuits
A thoroughly good drink. Something I’ve been feeling lately is that the older I get, the fewer people there are to share a good whisky with, which is a bit of a shame. I’ll just have to keep looking.
