Keumwon Hamheung Naengmyeon in Eunpyeong

I went to Keumwon Hamheung Naengmyeon because the owner of Miro Sikdang had posted that it was good.

The place

Keumwon naengmyeon.

From the outside it looks like an ordinary little shop, but the very fact that someone opened a Hamheung naengmyeon specialist in a back corner like this strikes me as remarkable. It isn’t as if this is Jongno.

They bring the broth out in a kettle, and it was seriously rich. Places like this almost never let you down.

Hoe naengmyeon (topped with seasoned raw fish)

Keumwon naengmyeon.

Unlike Ojang-dong and the rest of the famous Hamheung naengmyeon spots, it wasn’t fiery or harsh, and the noodles were good too, so I was more than happy.. this might just be the ultimate Hamheung naengmyeon flavour I’ve been chasing all this time..

I can only wonder how anyone ever found a place like this.

Side dishes

The menu

Keumwon naengmyeon.

I wanted the wang mandu (jumbo steamed dumplings) as well, but I’d just eaten the bread I bought at Soldout, so I had no room left. I could have handled it once, but I’ve gone soft.
