Aoyama and Harajuku Scenes, and the Dessert Shop Un Grain

Just putting up some photos I took while wandering around.

Patagonia

Aoyama harajuku.

“Fashion has nothing to do with us,” it says. That is a pretty firm sense of identity, I’d say.

CSG Blue Cafe

Aoyama harajuku.

Looks like a cafe that opened as an event pop-up.

Inside

Aoyama harajuku.

I came for the cookies this day.

Inside

Aoyama harajuku.

It suits the blue concept nicely.

Un Grain

Aoyama harajuku.

This is genuinely one of my favourite dessert shops. It was opened by someone who trained at Au Bon Vieux Temps, and the style is like the flavours of Au Bon Vieux Temps compressed into miniature, if that makes sense.

Desserts like these

Aoyama harajuku.

The sable cacao seems to have a touch of spice in it. The apricot jelly had a really deep aroma.

Desserts like these

Aoyama harajuku.

These are not desserts I’m qualified to comment on. They’re simply delicious. In fact they seem even better than they used to be. I’ll definitely have to come back.

Granny Smith apple pie

Aoyama harajuku.

I’d love to go, but the timing never works out.

Roughly like this.

Aoyama harajuku.

They sell American-style pies. The thing is, once I’m in Aoyama there’s so much to buy and see that I never have room left to make it this far.

Toraya An Stand

Aoyama harajuku.

Fancy finding a place like this in Harajuku.

Jars of jam everywhere.

Aoyama harajuku.

PreLady

Aoyama harajuku.

I’m guessing it’s a cosplay studio. A place like this tucked away behind Harajuku.

Initial

Aoyama harajuku.

Looks like a place famous for its parfaits.

Menchirashi

Aoyama harajuku.

It’s an udon shop, and the queue was so long that I had to take a photo. The kind of place tourists would love, perhaps.

Oreryu Shio Ramen

Aoyama harajuku.

I had no idea Harajuku had a place like this either.

Tiffany

Aoyama harajuku.

Lavish decorations.

Anniversaire Cafe

Aoyama harajuku.

When I think Harajuku, I think Anniversaire.

Craft ginger ale

Aoyama harajuku.

Decent enough.

French fries

Aoyama harajuku.

I thought they only did cake, but this is pretty good too.

BOSS x Shohei Ohtani collab

Aoyama harajuku.

Took this one from a bit closer up.

Alleyway

Aoyama harajuku.

Makes me wonder whether a spot like this has been here all along.

A back street in Harajuku

Aoyama harajuku.

Harajuku, Takeshita-dori

Aoyama harajuku.

Gentle Monster in Aoyama

Aoyama harajuku.

The queue was seriously enormous.

Kiddy Land

Aoyama harajuku.

It was always busy here, but now it feels more crowded than ever. There are definitely far more foreign visitors than there used to be.
