Scenes from downtown Nagoya

Here are some photos I took while wandering around downtown Nagoya.

A spot like this

Nagoya tour.

The center of town was absolutely packed. The further out you go, the fewer people there are, though.

Looks like it was a BMX event.

A Conan x Baskin-Robbins collab

Nagoya tour.

There are all kinds of scrubbing brushes out there.

A Chinese restaurant

I just snapped a photo.

Bakery & cafe

Nagoya tour.

It had only just opened in a newly built building, and it was busy.

And spots like this too..

HOKA

Nagoya tour.

They sell clothing as well as shoes. I have been running for years myself, but there really isn’t that much gear that is genuinely optimized for running. So much of it clings to the body so tightly that I would be embarrassed to wear it.. HOKA, though, has quite a few styles you can wear comfortably.

Konparu

Nagoya tour.

This is the famous an-butter (sweet red bean paste with butter) specialist in Nagoya. They have branches all over the city, not just here.. As you can see, it is very retro, I suppose.. Because the long-established shops all look like this, that is exactly why the kissaten morning set (the breakfast that comes with your coffee) does such good business.. It is famous, so I imagine I will drop in someday, though I have no idea when that will be.

Panerai

Nagoya tour.

Maybe because Nagoya is a well-off city too, there were an awful lot of luxury watch shops.

Don Quijote and the Ferris wheel

Nagoya tour.

A Ferris wheel right in the middle of town..

A rooftop garden

Nagoya tour.

I only come here once in a while, but it’s fun every time.
