Cafe Maru at the Four Seasons Hotel, Gwanghwamun

The desserts at the Four Seasons Hotel really are wonderful. It had been a while since my last visit, and the place had gotten even better.

Sausage roll

I mean, is a sausage roll even allowed to look this pretty..

Macadamia cube and mango cube

Seriously stunning.

Pain suisse

The display really is on a whole different level.

Anyway, I’d come after eating pizza that day, so I ordered desserts rather than bread. If I hadn’t had the pizza, the mango bingsu would have been a good call too..

Peugeot mills

The attention to detail is no joke, as you’d expect from a six-star hotel.

Chamomile

Nice and clean.

Cinnamon quince ade

Maybe it’s the quince, but it tasted like dried persimmon. It was so good it took me by surprise.

Shine muscat seasonal shortcake

A simply delicious cake with the flavor of shine muscat concentrated into it.

Summer cube

It was packed with blueberry flavor. The design is really pretty too, and it suited summer perfectly.

The Four Seasons Hotel’s signature chocolate brownie

It’s dense and loaded with nuts for a lovely nutty richness, and the price is reasonable too. This brownie alone makes the Four Seasons Hotel worth a visit.

Chocolate chip cookies

They come as standard when you order tea, and they’re good.

Inside the restroom..

Even the restroom is really lovely.. very much a hotel.

Nicolai Bergmann

It’s a famous name in Omotesando, and now it’s opened inside the Korean Four Seasons too. Naturally..

Decoration

The Four Seasons is a hotel I genuinely love, so I’d like to go back if I ever get the chance — it’s just a shame I don’t have many reasons to be in Gwanghwamun.. If you live in Gwanghwamun, please send some work my way..
