I knew there was a Harry Potter theme park at USJ, but in the end, if you want to go, there is so much to see and so many people that you have to set aside a whole day for it.
The entrance
It has a bit of a Stonehenge feel to it. You walk quite a way in before you actually get anywhere, and I wondered why they bothered, but once I saw the crowds inside I realised they had no choice.
The Hogwarts Express
It doesn’t actually run, though..
Hogsmeade village
That snow is fake, but they have recreated the place pretty well. There are so many people that whatever you try to go into, the queue is enormous.
The village
The attraction
They have built some sort of castle here. Getting in meant a 100-minute wait, so I gave up. With an Express PASS you can get in sooner, but you can’t even buy one..

The queue for Butterbeer
It’s incredibly long.
The Butterbeer menu
If you look closely you’ll see that, beer or not, there is no alcohol in it.
Here it is..
It’s like ginger ale with whipped cream on top, and it was surprisingly good. This much should do no harm to Harry Potter’s reputation. Buying this beer took 30 minutes, and if you wanted to go into the restaurant and order fish and chips, that was another hour’s wait. You really do need to set a whole day aside..
