Gwangmyeong seems to be a pretty hot spot these days, so I went to have a look.

I went to Gwangmyeong and it looks like almost the whole place is about to be torn up. It feels like the entire area is going to be redeveloped. Well, Gwangmyeong is practically right on Seoul’s doorstep, and there are plenty of jobs just over in Gasan, so redevelopment is only natural — but even so, redevelopment doesn’t make housing any cheaper. That’s because land prices have to go up and the area has to draw attention in the first place for a redevelopment to succeed.. So the pre-sale prices aren’t cheap either, and I do wonder whether the redevelopment will actually go well..

It was my first time seeing one, here in Gwangmyeong, so I took a photo. Turns out holes like that really do open up in the road..

Near Guro
This neighborhood is close to the Han River after all, so living here turns out to be pretty convenient.
