Café Macolinne. In Japanese it comes out as “Makorinnu”, a name that somehow makes me think of makgeolli, but it’s a stylish little café in central Hamamatsu.
The place
Apparently the curry is what they’re known for.
Water glass
One-plate starter
The ingredients are nice and fresh. They clearly look after their produce here.
Soup curry
The vegetables really are fresh. The curry tasted good too. The plate is pretty as well, so it feels like a place that does things properly.
House-made ginger ale
The fizz had a real bite to it. They probably have a dedicated soda-water dispenser; at that point you’d have to call it a place with plenty of character.
Overall a lovely café with a clean, professional feel. The world is wide and there are so many good places to eat.
